Reports reveal that he was pronounced dead by Los Angeles County Fire and Rescue at 10:11 a.m. His lifeless body was discovered at the bottom of a swimming pool in Los Angeles. The death was ruled accidental. Security camera footage revealed the unfortunate incident: he tripped from the pool ladder, hit his head, and fell into the pool.

- Tommy Davis takes over from Billy Ray Bates, who played his final game in the PBA on October 13, 1992. Davis joins forces with Joe Ward, who has stepped in to replace the original import, Kevin Gamble.

- Anejo's high-scoring import duo, Joe Ward and Tommy Davis, made a lasting impression during the 1988 season. In the series for third place against Presto, their punching abilities were on full display. When Ward and Davis started playing together in the second round of eliminations, the 65ers had a successful run of four straight victories. They set numerous records for combined outputs, contributing 122 out of Anejo's total of 157 points in their overtime win over Purefoods on October 30. Ward scored 63 points and Davis scored 59. In a non-essential 181-173 win over Shell on December 1, Ward scored 78 points and Davis added 55, totaling 133 points.

On December 11, 1988, Davis and Ward delivered an unforgettable performance in their last match against the Rum Masters. Davis dominated the court with an impressive 65 points, while Ward showcased his skills with a remarkable 61 points. However, this game will forever be remembered for the infamous brawl that unfolded, making it one of the the darkest moment in PBA history.

- The Ginebra import, who bears a striking resemblance to the legendary Mike Tyson, defied expectations in the 1988 PBA Open Conference. Despite being the shortest among the six imports and only led his team to fourth-placed finish, he emerged as the winner of the Best Import award.

- Jamie Waller return to play for Ginebra in the 1992 Third Conference. The Gins were allowed to have an import standing 6-4 as the handicapping rule for being eliminated twice while the rest of the teams will have a 6-1 import. Eight games into the eliminations with Ginebra carrying a four-win, four-loss record when trouble started brewing regarding import Jamie Waller's actions, but rumors were quickly dispelled when Waller led Ginebra to the semifinals with back-to-back wins over Alaska and Shell. When Shell import Kelvin Upshaw was kick out and banned by the PBA for failing a drug test, Waller went on his way and left to sympathise with Upshaw. Ginebra decided to bring in a replacement import Danny Jones, going into their highly anticipated encounter with the Tony Harris-led Swift.
